CMS (Cryptographic Message Syntax)

Digital signatures can be externalized if required by the counterparty. AvantGard Trax supports the CMS format for external digital signatures. The Cryptographic Message Syntax (CMS) is the IETF's standard for cryptographic protected messages. It can be used to digitally sign, digest, authenticate or encrypt any form of digital data.

To enable CMS output, check the External signature checkbox in an appropriate outgoing routing table. Please note that this setting is only useful if the signing method provides a digital signature.
